Christmas party

I had a really fun time at the annual Arohanui Christmas party!! Everyone was dressed up in cool costumes, it was a Fairy tale and Disney theme. there was a Baloon artist there who made me a really cool Penguin, I loved the disco lights and enjoyed seeing everyone dance. 

Making Christmas cards

I had a fun arts and crafts session where I looked after a caterpillar about to change into a crysalis, and I made a card for mum and a card for Lara, I liked using the tree stencils.

All about the wind!!

Today I have been checking out things that blow in the wind, I played with a windmill in sensory and also took a plane/propeller into the breeze and watched it move in its wheels. Cool!

Kaka street playground

I'm went for a lovely outing to the Kaka street playground. I really enjoyed a cool swing that had a sort of space ship seat. It was really fun

Bread buns

Today in cooking i made bread buns, we are practicing for a BBQ coming up next year. 

Visit to Historic Village

We went to the historic village to visit the Men's shed and we found this lovely bush walk, lucky it was a very hot day so we sat down in the shade for five minutes to cool off.

Kuirau park Rotorua

I went on an exciting trip to Rotorua to visit the bubbling mudpools and steam in Kuirau park,  we walked around checking out all the thermal activity. We walked over a really cool bridge and walkways over the hot water. We went to a really cool sensory garden that was filled with lovely scented flowers and lastly we went down to the water front for lunch and I really liked the swans and saw a cool water plane! 

Luminarium

Last week we went for a trip to the city centre waterfront to visit the exciting Luminarium with my friends. I had a nice time sitting by the sea and had a great chat to the manager of the Luminarium who told me all about how it was made, how it works and brought me a cool book of photos to look at which I really enjoyed. 

Making pancakes and pikelets

I have been practicing making pikelets and pancakes in cooking to take home for my mum to try, I really enjoy mixing the ingredients. 

Drawing on the computer

I had an awesome time drawing an Xmas tree on the computer using the programme "paint"

Hamilton

I really enjoyed my trip to the excite museum in Hamilton. The big display of pump water bottles that lighted up was my favourite. I got to try different machines with my friends, got to go racing and explored different objects that had a lot of lights. 

Mm mm pike lets

Loved baking pikelets. I reckon they look pretty good, they tasted good too.

Computer's

Today in computer's I am learning about military planes. It is very interesting.

Lovely walk

I went for a lovely walk down a walkway that starts near the historic village off 21st ave, it leads over a bride and to a really cool old. I had such a nice time. 

Fun with paper planes

The guys took a break from boat making and made some paper planes it was lots of fun flying them.

James Bond photo shoot

Had a very cool afternoon at the James Bond themed photo shoot, we even had a an Aston Martin come to be photographed with us, and I even got to go for a ride.  Was a very cool afternoon.

Renovation

Chilling with some puppies

Had a very cool time at animates yesterday. We got to pat some puppies, watch the turtles swimming, and look at lots of fish, mice, guinea pigs and budgies.

Making burgers

In cooking we made yummy beef burgers, we added fried onions, cheese, tomato, lettuce and beetroot to make them extra healthy and delicious. They came out awesome!

Hairy maclary

The new sculptures have been unveiled downtown the strand they're pretty cool.

Wilrose Centre

Yippee I visited the Wilrose Centre and found a beautiful butterfly on the wall.  I love visiting gardens.

Out and about

Had a lovely walk this morning through town.

Cooking bacon and egg pies

I had a Fun time in cooking making healthy bacon and egg pies with whole grain bread instead of pastry. While the pies where cooking I looked in cooking books for ideas of recipes to cook over the next few weeks. I liked the cookies and cakes decorated with balloons and planes. 

Caterpillars

I went to the caterpillars show at Baycourt it was lots of fun especially when the man caterpillar kept popping the busy bee balloons.

Glow disco

On Friday we had a shared Lunch of pumpkin soup and then enjoyed a boggie down at the glow disco in the sensory room.

Boys afternoon out

Yesterday the boys took a trip out to Action Canvas and upholstery at the mount to see what they get up to in the work shop. we got to see some cool hot rods and even have a sit in them.

Merivale Community Garden

I had a lovely outing to the community garden, we weeded the

garden and stripped off old cabbage leaves. I had real fun in the sun. 

Men's shed

Had a pretty afternoon out at the historic village. We went to the men's shed and saw everything they were making.

Out and about

I enjoyed a walk out in the sunshine this week hopping to see butterflys.

Classic flyers WWI Exhibition

We went to Classic a Flyers and had a look at the WWI Exhibition.  It was really cool, there was lots of planes, I got to fly a plane and sit in the Royal Mail plane.

My visit to the community garden.

In garden art I enjoyed hopping in the van with my friends and driving to the Merivale Community Garden. I made sure there weren't too many caterpillars eating all of our lovely winter veges. 

Trip to M.O.T.A.T museum

Yesterday I had an exciting trip up to Auckland to see the Museum of transport and technology. I arrived bright and early, excited to check out all of the cool interactive science and tech-fun activities. I really enjoyed the Jandle organ, the plasma ball, the cars with the moveable parts and of course the wicked plane museum!! I loved my rides on the tram and chilling at Western springs park for lunch, feeding all the swans, geese and native birds. 

Reflections

In activities I helped to put a clear coat of varnish on a group painting project we have all taken part of. The mirror turned out really cool and we used it to look at the chrysalis that was opening in he garden, we could see it at all angles. I thought that was wicked!! 

Happy birthday to me!!!

Yesterday I celebrated my birthday with my friends at Arohanui. Mum made me a very yummy chocolate cake.

Learning how to make pizza

Soon in the cooking group will be Pizza. So I watched a cool tutorial in the sensory room on how to make dough and what toppings to use. I'm Looking forward to pizza next week!! 

Fun with a drill

Today I was playing with some nuts, bolts, screws and a cool power drill. I had fun!! 

Walk to the dairy

I went on a nice walk to the dairy to get some ingredients for cooking. I like walking with my friends. 

Drifting cars!!

I had an awesome afternoon going to the Vehicle testing centre at mount Maunganui to check out the drifting cars for Team DSR. I even got a chance to sit in a wicked blue one. How cool is that!?

Been a busy day today, manning the desk in the gallery.  I've been keeping an eye on things.

Walking with my butterfly!

When I got to work yesterday another one of my butterfly's had hatched! I tried to put it outside but it kept going on the ground as it's wings were still wet and I was scared it would get hurt. We put it on my shoulder to look after it and I had a walk planned so I took my butterfly with me. We walked in to Greerton town and everyone we walked past I showed them my beautiful butterfly. Lots of people stopped to talk to me and one man told me that the Maori word for monarch butterfly is Kahuku. My butterfly's wings finally dried just before we went back to work and it flew off into the sky. It was great fun having my butterfly on my shoulder and taking it for a walk!

Photography

I went on a really cool outing to a reserve that overlooked the water and had a neat view of mount Maunganui. I had such a good time getting out and about.
